Nikita Krivov was born in 1928, April 10th, in Moscow, in the family of professional revolutionaries and members of the Communist party. Before the World War II his parents were arrested and his mother was exiled. Nikita spent the war years in evacuation in Ufa and on his return back to Moscow he entered the Art lyceum for gifted children.

Five years later he entered Moscow Art Institute (Sourikov's) where he chose to become a graphic designer. In 1951 the first book illustrated by Krivov was published. Nikita Krivov soon became one of the founders and members of Moscow Committee of graphic artists.

In the period of 1951-2000 Krivov accomplished series of illustrations and design for more than 200 books encounting world classics and Russian and Soviet authors. He has made over 2000 drawings and he never stops working.
